Families of Israeli captives: Those who brokered a ceasefire with Iran can also end the war in Gaza

OCCUPIED PALESTINE, July 04 (YPA) –  Family members of Israeli captives in Gaza renewed their calls on Friday for the Israeli government to take serious action toward securing a prisoner exchange deal that would lead to the release of their loved ones.

They argued that the recent ceasefire agreement between Israel and Iran demonstrates that “political will can achieve critical breakthroughs.”

In a joint statement, the families said that ending the war with Iran in just 12 days proves that “political will and appropriate pressure can lead to tangible results.”

They stressed that the issue of the captives is both a humanitarian and political matter of the highest priority and must be placed at the top of the Israeli government’s agenda.

The statement called on the Israeli government to take “urgent action” and not waste any more time, stating that “a successful prisoner exchange deal is now possible—if there is genuine intent and a clear political decision.”

In a direct message to Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, the Families of Israeli captives urged him to secure release of all captives in Gaza in one deal.

They also issued an appeal to US President Donald Trump, urging him to “continue applying pressure and using your influence to help secure an agreement that brings all the captives held in Gaza back home.”

These statements come amid growing internal pressure within “Israel”, as the war on Gaza continues and negotiations over a ceasefire and prisoner exchange remain stalled, amid growing concern among the captives’ families over the worsening conditions of their relatives.
