GAZA, June 27 (YPA) – The Government Media Office in Gaza revealed on Friday that oxycodone pills were found inside bags of flour provided to citizens from centers known as death traps linked to US-Israeli aid.
In a statement, the office expressed concern that some of these narcotics may have been intentionally added to the flour, increasing the seriousness of the crime and making it a direct assault on public health.
The office condemned this horrific crime targeting the health of civilians and the social fabric, holding the Israeli occupation fully responsible for spreading addiction and destroying the Palestinian social fabric as part of a systematic policy that represents an extension of the crime of genocide against the Palestinian people.
It emphasized that the Israeli occupation’s use of drugs as a means of waging an immoral war against civilians and exploiting the blockade to smuggle these substances as “aid” constitutes a war crime and a serious violation of international humanitarian law.
The office warned the Palestinian people of this crime and reiterated its warning against visiting these dangerous centers, which are considered death traps and mass enticement. It also urged families to educate their children about the dangers of these centers and narcotics, emphasizing that community vigilance is the first line of defense against these malicious schemes.
The office called on the international community and United Nations bodies, especially the Human Rights Council and the International Criminal Court, to intervene to stop the operation of these “death trap” centers, which have become daily tools for killing, luring, and deliberate genocide.
It additionally emphasized the need to lift the siege on the Gaza Strip and permit aid to pass exclusively through official UN and international institutions. Furthermore, it urged preventing the occupation or its affiliates from hindering the efforts of international organizations, particularly UNRWA.
