Israeli occupation aircraft launch series of violent raids on southern Lebanon

BEIRUT, June 23 (YPA) – Israeli occupation forces’ warplanes launched a series of violent airstrikes on several areas in southern Lebanon, on Monday evening, in a new escalation that threatens to expand the scope of the confrontation on the northern front.

Lebanese field sources reported that the Israeli raids hit large areas, including Mahmoudiya and Aishiya, in addition to the towns of Barghuz and Dimashqiya, and extended to the outskirts of the town of Ansar and Zrarieh in al-Tuffah region and the Litani River.

The Israeli air aggression also targeted the valley area between the towns of Azza and Kafrwa, and the Zafta Valley of Deir al-Zahrani, causing panic among civilians and causing material damage to property and infrastructure and no human losses were recorded.

These raids come in the context of an escalation of the Israeli occupation army’s aggression and its violations of the ceasefire agreement, amid warnings of an expansion of military operations and a deterioration of the security situation in southern Lebanon.
