Yemen’s Socotra archipelago violated by Israeli enemy via UAE

SOCOTRA, June 21 (YPA) – The Yemeni island of Socotra, located east of the Gulf of Aden, stands out as one of the most important Yemeni islands to have fallen under the Zionist project since the declaration of war on Yemen in March 2015.

But, the Israeli project came to light on the island following the UAE’s normalization with the entity in mid-August 2020.

Socotra, a World Heritage Site, with its unique natural beauty and strategic location, has become a platform for Israeli intelligence expansion toward the Arabian Sea and the Horn of Africa, across the Gulf of Aden and all the way to Bab al-Mandab, under the umbrella of unlimited Emirati support to implement its malicious agendas against Yemen, with the goal of controlling important maritime passages.

Specifically, over the past few years, the UAE forces had completed their control of Hadiboh, the archipelago’s center, in June 2020, the exchange of diplomatic gifts between the UAE and the Zionist entity has not been limited to this, but the UAE has even enabled “Israel” to establish a military base on Abd al-Kuri Island and, since the beginning of 2021, has transformed strategic sites in the archipelago, especially at the areas of Jamjouh and Ras Qatnan, into espionage and air and sea surveillance centers.

The UAE did not stop there. In November 2023, it deployed an Israeli air defense system on Abd al-Kuri Island to monitor and disrupt Yemeni missile capabilities. The move came after the Sanaa-based government announced a ban on Israeli navigation until the aggression on Gaza was halted and the blockade lifted. The coalition-affiliated Aden government remained silent.

The Zionist entity has encircled Yemen via the UAE by the Al-Rayyan base, a joint base with US forces, since 2016. It also established a base on Mayun Island in the Bab al-Mandab Strait in 2017, which the Debka, Jewish intelligence site, described as “the key to controlling international navigation.

In the midst of these events, Yemen has been continuing to impose a naval blockade on Israeli vessels in the Red and Arabian Seas, Socotra will remain a witness to one of the most dangerous Zionist infiltrations via the UAE into key international strategic locations, amid questions about the possibility of “Israel” using Socotra as a military base to launch attacks on Iran, especially since its pretext since its public appearance in the archipelago has been to confront Iranian threats.
