SANAA, June 20 (YPA) – The National Center of Meteorology and Early Warning has predicted scattered rainfall across several provinces of Yemen over the next 24 hours.
According to the center’s weather bulletin, the extremely hot and humid conditions may be prevailed over the desert, plains, and coastal areas.
It forecast scattered rainfall may be expected in the provinces of Taiz, Ibb, Dhalea, Rayma, Mahweet, Hajjah, Saada, Amran, Sanaa, and Bayda, as well as to Lahj, Abyan, and Shabwa.
The center indicated the possibility of active to strong winds on the Socotra Archipelago and the eastern coasts, with speeds ranging between 30 to 40 knots.
The center warned citizens in mountainous areas where rainfall expected to occur of thunderstorms and of staying in or crossing floodwaters during and after rainfall.
It called on seafarers, fishermen, and ship captains to take necessary measures to protect themselves of high seas and rough waves around the Socotra Archipelago, the eastern Gulf of Aden, and the eastern coasts.
