Person killed, another injured by armed tribesmen in Marib

MARIB, June 17 (YPA) – One person was killed and another injured, both from Shabwa province, on Tuesday by gunmen belonging to a tribe in the Ghuwayriban area east of Marib City, which is under the Saudi-led coalition’s control.

Local sources reported that armed members of the Al-Oshan al-Damashqa tribe opened fire on two members of the Al-Khalifi in the Thaniya area of ​​Ghuwayriban, which resulted in the death of Hussein Awad al-Harshi al-Khalifi and the injury of Abdulrahman Saleh Jalom al-Khalifi, both from Shabwa.

The incident comes after the Al-Oshan tribe established a roadblock last Sunday on the Al-Abr road to protest the continued imprisonment of one of their members. During the protest, they also prevented the passage of gas tankers.
