Sanaa, WFP discuss means to alleviate humanitarian suffering

SANAA, June 15 (YPA) – The Sanaa-based Ministers of Foreign Affairs, Jamal Amer, discussed on Sunday with the WFP’s Director of the Global Partner Countries Division, Abdullah Alwardat, ways to resolve the outstanding issues between the two sides.

In a meeting, the Minister explained that the ministry had provided numerous facilities to the WFP office in Sanaa over the past period, but the office was creating problems for itself by failing to adhere to the agreed-upon terms.

“The Sanaa government in is committed to ensuring the WFP’s office in Yemen would continue to operate in accordance with established principles and standards, which would contribute to alleviating the humanitarian suffering that targets Yemenis as a result of the aggression and comprehensive blockade,” he added.

For his part, Alwardat emphasized that his primary mission in Yemen would be purely humanitarian, unconcerned with any political issues, for resolving all outstanding issues in cooperation with the relevant Yemeni authorities, in a manner that serves the Yemeni people.
