LAHJ, June 12 (YPA) — Security forces affiliated with the Southern Transitional Council (STC) in Lahj governorate discovered four bodies inside a parked vehicle on Wednesday evening in the Al-Anad Triangle area, raising widespread concern and panic among local residents.
The car had been parked near Jabal Al-Zaytouna since the afternoon and remained unnoticed until four bodies were found inside around sunset, sources said.
Security personnel rushed to the scene, cordoned off the area, and launched a preliminary investigation to determine the circumstances of what is being described as a mysterious crime.
Authorities have identified the victims as:
Adel Khaled Abdullah, 26
Ziyad Khaled Abdullah, 19
Zaki Jamil Thabet, 18
Hussein Hani Al-Yazidi, 20
Sources reported that the bodies were transferred to the morgue at Ibn Khaldoun Hospital in the district of Houta district, the provincial capital, in preparation for forensic examination and the completion of legal and medical procedures to determine the causes of death and confirm the victims’ identities.
They stated that the causes of death still unknown, with official authorities maintaining a strict silence pending the outcome of ongoing investigations.
The horrifying incident has sparked widespread concern in the area, with growing public calls for a swift investigation to uncover the circumstances and identify any potential perpetrators.
It is worth noting that Al-And Triangle serves as a vital corridor connecting several southern governorates. The area has witnessed sporadic security incidents and tensions in previous periods, compounding local residents’ concerns about this latest event.
