ALQUDS, June 01 (YPA) – Airfare prices from Israeli occupation to major tourist destinations have been skyrocketed this summer.
The Hebrew newspaper Calcalist revealed that a 63% increase in ticket prices to Bangkok, 46% to Barcelona, and 43% to Paphos compared to usual prices.
Experts attributes this sharp increase to several factors, especially during the ongoing war and its impact on the aviation sector, as well as the fall of a Yemeni missile near Lod Airport, known as Ben Gurion, last month, which increased instability and impacted air traffic.
Much of this increase is due to the fact that many foreign airlines have not returned to operating to Israeli airports because the ongoing missile threats from Yemen, which has reduced competition and pushed prices to record levels.
The Israeli travelers have faced limited options and unprecedentedly high prices, amid warnings that the situation could worsen if security threats persist and international airlines are delayed in returning to normal operations.
