Shabwa security forces accused of targeting northern Qat vendors in Ataq

SHABWA, June 08 (YPA) – Local sources in Shabwa province, which is under control of the Saudi-led coalition, reported racist practices by Public Security personnel in the city of Ataq targeting qat vendors from northern Yemeni provinces.

The sources stated that several security officers raided multiple markets in Ataq today, extorting qat sellers and forcibly seizing their merchandise without justification.

They confirmed that those targeted were exclusively vendors from the northern regions of the country.
