Women’s protests terrify STC factions in Aden

ADEN, May 31 (YPA) – Angry women’s protests erupted in Aden city against deteriorating living conditions and services, raising concerns among the UAE-backed Southern Transitional Council (STC) factions, who quickly closed roads leading to the Mualla area using military vehicles.

According to a local source, women affiliated with STC factions took to the streets brandishing sticks, attempting to threaten the demonstrators demanding improved basic services such as electricity, water, and salary payments. The forces prevented entry and exit to Mualla.

This women’s demonstration is the third in May, following previous attacks on protesters in Khormaksar amid a lack of response from the government loyal to the Saudi-led coalition to provide basic services such as fuel for power stations.

The women’s protests follow a widespread arrest campaign launched by STC factions since April, targeting activists and youth participating in nighttime protests in various areas of Aden.
