Spain calls for suspension of EU’s partnership agreement with “Israel”

WORLD, May 30 (YPA) -Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez has called for increasing  international pressure on “Israel” to halt its war on the Gaza Strip, emphasizing the need for a comprehensive ban on arms exports to Tel Aviv.

His remarks came during the Arab-European summit held in Madrid, according to Western media reports.

Sánchez stressed that continued military support for Israel is contributing to the worsening humanitarian catastrophe in Gaza.

Meanwhile, Spanish Foreign Minister José Manuel Albares also emphasized the necessity of recognizing the State of Palestine as a critical step toward achieving lasting peace.

He further called for the immediate and unrestricted opening of humanitarian corridors into the Gaza Strip.

Albares noted that Spain is considering imposing sanctions on “Israel” and is urging the European Union to suspend its association agreement with “Israel”, which currently grants it significant trade privileges within the EU.
