Senior dealer injured in Taiz attack

TAIZ, May 29 (YPA) – A dealer’s son was seriously injured in an assassination attempt by gunmen believed to be affiliated with the Islah party in the city of Taiz.

Local sources said that a number of protesters attacked the home of the merchant, Mahyoub Qasim Al-Sharabi, Al-Sharabi in Al-Saeed neighborhood in Asifrah district on Wednesday, injuring his son.

The sources stated that the masked gunmen pursued Walid through the streets and onto the roof of a nearby house.

They confirmed that Al-Sharabi’s son was transported to an Aden hospital for treatment, and the perpetrators were unknown, but they managed to escape to Islah camps.

The sources affirmed that Al-Sharabi had been subjected to repeated attacks and extortion in the recent period, including attacks on his shops in the city.
