WORLD, May 27 (YPA) -The Zionist entity received a new major blow on Tuesday after Germany’s Lufthansa Group announced the suspension of five airline routes to the occupied territories due to the continued Yemeni strikes.
The decision affects multiple carriers within the group, including Germany’s flag carrier Lufthansa, Swiss, Austrian Airlines, Eurowings, ITA Airways, Brussels Airlines, and Lufthansa Cargo, the group said in a statement .
The airlines had planned to resume flights to Tel Aviv on June 9, but ongoing missile strikes by Houthi forces targeting Israeli airports forced them to extend their flight suspension for another week.
On Monday, the group said that it will extend its suspension of flights to Tel Aviv until June 15, citing ongoing security concerns in the region.
Lufthansa is considered one of the major European carriers with daily flights to “Israel”.
The move comes amid continued Yemeni strikes targeting the Zionist entity, particularly Lod Airport, which Yemen has declared a military target in its operations supporting Gaza.
In a related statement, the German Chancellor declared that it was no longer possible to justify the crimes in Gaza as merely a war on Hamas.
The Chancellor added that he would contact Netanyahu to urge him not to escalate the war on Gaza.
Meanwhile, the German Foreign Minister stated that “Germany will not accept the displacement of Gaza’s population.”
Previously, the German parliament had also criticized the blockade imposed by the occupation on Gaza, accusing it of preventing aid from entering the Strip in order to starve the population.
