Prominent Iranian religious figure arrested in Mecca

MECCA, May 27 (YPA) – Saudi Arabia authorities arrested Sheikh Gholamreza Qasemian while  he was performing the rituals of Hajj in Mecca, Mehr News Agency reported .

According to the agency, Sheikh Qasemian is one of the well-known TV experts in Iran and a host of the Quranic program “Mahfel”

According to the available information, he had published a video clip criticizing the situation in Saudi Arabia, which led to his arrest.

No information has yet been made available regarding the condition of Qasemian following his arrest by Saudi security forces.
