Israeli warplanes launch airstrikes on southern Lebanon

BEIRUT, May 23 (YPA) – Israeli enemy warplanes and attack helicopters launched two airstrikes at dawn on Friday, targeting prefabricated rooms on the outskirts of Deir Antar (Bint Jbeil district) and the town of Shamaa (Tyre district) southern Lebanon, according to the Lebanese National News Agency.

The strikes followed a night of intensified Israeli aggression across southern Lebanon. The Israeli warplanes, helicopters, and drones carried out a series of attacks on several towns in the western sector of the Tyre district, including the outskirts of Hanniyeh, Zibqin, Wadi Maryameen near Majdal Zoun, Wadi Zibqin, and Wadi al-Aziyeh, extending to the outskirts of Al-Qulayleh.

The bombardment was accompanied by continuous hostile aerial activity that lasted until the early hours of the morning.

Lebanese Prime Minister Nawaf Salam condemned the repeated Israeli attacks on Lebanon, which come just before the municipal elections in the south.
