Israeli soldier killed in fighting in southern Gaza

OCCUPIED PALESTINE, May 21 (YPA) – The Israeli occupation army announced on Wednesday the death of another soldier during ongoing battles in the southern Gaza Strip, marking the second military fatality in the area within 24 hours.

The occupation army’s statement identified the soldier as Staff Sgt. Danilo Mocanu of the army’s 7th Armored Brigade’s 82nd Battalion.

According to the Israeli army radio, the sergeant was killed in a building collapse, after an explosive device was detonated.

Israeli media also reported that a building collapsed on an occupation force, resulting in the serious injury of two soldiers and moderate injury of a third.

The developments illustrate the strategic capabilities of the Palestinian resistance in conducting high-impact operations that expose and exploit weaknesses in enemy formations on the ground.
