Hadramout Tribal Confederacy takes step toward autonomy

HADRAMOUT, May 12 (YPA) – The “Hadramout Tribal Confederacy”

announced on Monday the formation of a committee to prepare documents related to the directions of self-rule announced by the “Alliance” last month.

A statement issued by the Confederacy stated that a committee, headed by Dr. Abdulaziz Saleh Jaber and with ten other members, has been tasked with preparing the fundamental legal and political documents for the establishment of “self-rule.”

The Confederacy, led by Sheikh Amr bin Habrish, enjoys clear support from Saudi Arabia in confronting the UAE’s efforts to take control of Hadramout.
