GAZA, May 11 (YPA) – The Palestinian Ministry of Health in the Gaza Strip announced, on Sunday, that the death toll from the ongoing Israeli aggression on the Strip since October 7, 2023, has risen to 52,829, noting that the vast majority of victims are women and children.
The ministry explained in a press statement that the number of injured has risen to 119,554, while an unknown number of victims are still trapped under the rubble, amid the inability of rescue teams to reach them due to the ongoing bombing and lack of necessary equipment.
The hospitals in the Strip received 19 martyrs, including one martyr pulled from under the rubble, in addition to 81 new injuries during the past 24 hours, according to the statement.
The the statement indicated that the death toll since March 18, 2025, has reached 2,720 martyrs, in addition to 7513 injuries, indicating the escalation of Israeli military attacks in recent weeks and the continued targeting of civilian areas and displacement camps.
The ministry confirmed that the health system in Gaza continues to operate with dilapidated capabilities in light of the tight blockade, the severe shortage of medicines and medical supplies, and the near-total collapse of the health infrastructure.
