Iran agrees to hold fourth round of nuclear talks with US in Oman

TEHRAN, May 10 (YPA) -Iran has agreed to hold a fourth round of nuclear talks with the United States on Sunday in Oman, Iranian state television reported, citing Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi .

“The negotiations are moving forward, and naturally, the further we go, the more consultations and reviews are needed,”Abbas Araqchi  said in a statement.

Separately, US President Donald Trump’s Middle East envoy Steve Witkoff will travel to Oman on Sunday for a fourth round of talks on Iran’s nuclear, Reuters reported citing a well-informed source on Friday

The fourth round had originally been scheduled for the previous Saturday but was postponed due to “logistical reasons,” according to Omani officials.

Iran and the United States, which severed diplomatic ties in 1980, began indirect negotiations on April 12 regarding Iran’s nuclear program, under Omani mediation.

President Donald Trump has expressed hope that a deal can be reached on the nuclear issue that would spare Iran from a potential military strike.
