Irish government calls on Israeli occupation to lift siege on Gaza

WARAW, May 04 (YPA) – The Irish government has called on the Israeli occupation government to lift the siege on Gaza and allow the entry of humanitarian aid.

In a statement, the government warned of the ongoing humanitarian catastrophe in Gaza, noting that no humanitarian or commercial aid has entered the Strip for more than eight weeks due to the occupation’s blockade.

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Simon Harris affirmed on Friday that the occupation’s prevention of life-saving aid from entering the Gaza Strip constitutes a violation of international law, calling on it to immediately lift the blockade and allow unhindered access for humanitarian relief.

Harris called for an immediate ceasefire and urgent action by the international community to prevent further deterioration.
