Sanaa forces target two US aircraft carriers, shoot down “MQ-9” drone

SANAA, April 22 (YPA) – The Yemeni armed forces in Sanaa announced this evening the implementation of two military operations targeting the US aircraft carriers Truman and Vinson, in addition to their warships, and were able to shoot down an American MQ-9 aircraft.

The Sanaa forces statement issued this evening made it clear that a number of winged missiles and drones were used in the attacks on the two aircraft carriers and their accompanying pieces in the Red Sea and Arabian Sea.

The statement indicated that air defenses successfully shot down the US drone while carrying out hostile missions in the airspace of Hajjah province by using a locally manufactured surface-to-air missile.

This is the seventh drone shot down by Yemeni air defenses this April and the 22nd during the “Promised Victory and Holy Jihad” battle in support of Gaza.

The statement also stated that “the two military operations came in response to the US aggression against Yemen and in support of the Palestinian people and their mujahideen.”
