Two civilians killed, two injured in Israeli airstrikes on Lebanon

BEIRUT, April 20 (YPA) – Two civilians were killed and two others injured on Sunday in two Israeli airstrikes targeting the towns of Houla and Kawthariyeh al-Sayyad in southern Lebanon.

The Ministry of Health’s Public Health Emergency Operations Center declared in a statement that one person was killed when an Israeli airstrike targeted a house in the town of Houla, in the Marjayoun district of Nabatieh, according to the official Lebanese News Agency.

The statement added that the raid, which was also launched by the Israeli occupation army on a car in the town of Kawthriyat al-Siyad, resulted in the death of one person and the injury of two others.

Earlier, the Lebanese National News Agency reported that Israeli warplanes carried out a series of raids targeting the Jal Shihab area between the towns of Arnoun, Kfar Tebnit, and Yohmor al-Shakif, in southern Lebanon.

On October 8, 2023, the Israeli occupation forces has launched an aggression against Lebanon, which escalated into a full-scale war on September 23, 2024, resulting in more than 4,000 deaths and almost 17,000 injuries, in addition to the displacement of approximately 1.4 million people.

The occupation authorities continue to target areas in southern Lebanon, under the pretext of attacking Hezbollah targets, despite a ceasefire agreement in effect since November 27, 2024.

The occupation has evaded completing its withdrawal from southern Lebanon by February 18, contrary to the agreement, implementing a partial withdrawal and continues to occupy five Lebanese hills, within the areas it occupied in the last war.
