WASHINGTON, April 17 (YPA) – The US Treasury Department announced that the United States imposed new sanctions on the International Bank of Yemen on Thursday.
International news agencies quoted the statement as saying that the United States also imposed sanctions on senior bank officials (Kamal Hussein Al-Jabri, Ahmed Thabet Noman Al-Absi, and Abdul Qader Ali Bazara), on the pretext of the bank’s financial support for Ansarallah.
The sources indicated that the new sanctions come as part of Washington’s efforts to prevent attacks by Sanaa forces “on navigation in the Red Sea” in support of Gaza.
