ICRC: Our operations in Gaza are ongoing but severely constrained

GAZA, April 17 (YPA) -The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), confirmed on Thursday that its operations in Gaza are ongoing but severely constrained.

A spokesperson warned that the ongoing fuel blockade is endangering water purification systems and hospitals.

“With no proper sanitation and limited access to safe drinking water, the danger of communicable disease outbreaks is closer by the day,” he added.

This comes as Gaza’s Government Media Office previously warned that the humanitarian situation in the Strip is nearing total collapse.

The warning comes in light of a systematic blockade and starvation policy imposed by occupation forces for over six months—exacerbated by a complete and deliberate suspension of humanitarian aid for more than six consecutive weeks.
