PetroMasila power plant in Aden goes out of service

ADEN, April 16 (YPA) – Aden-based Electricity Corporation confirmed that the PetroMasila power plant in the city went completely offline on Wednesday due to the lack of fuel supplies.

Sources in the corporation explained that the station, which relies on daily supplies of crude oil from eight tankers from Marib and Hadramout, has been completely suspended due to the gradual decrease in fuel supplies from Marib.

The sources noted that supplies to Hadramout were continuing, but the quantity was insufficient to operate the station 24 hours a day, forcing the corporation’s administrators to temporarily take the station out of service.

Mansoura power plant, which operates with a capacity of 50 megawatts using diesel fuel, would be out of service in two weeks due to limited fuel supplies.
