HADRAMOUT, April 17 (YPA) – Commander of the Emirati-backed factions at the Barashid camp, located west of Mukalla, the capital of Hadramout, Abdul Daim Al-Shaibi Al-Dhalei, issued fiery threats to Hadramout tribes.
He described the acts of the Hadramout Tribal Alliance, led by Amr bin Habrish, who is loyal to Saudi Arabia, as “instigators of sedition,” threatening them with hellfire.
In news statements, Al-Dhalei stressed that he would confront the Hadramout tribes following their declaration of “autonomy” last Saturday, no matter the cost, indicating that his forces were on the lookout for them.
Al-Dhalei continued, “Those who are trying to destabilize Hadramout will not succeed in achieving their goals. We are here to deter them and stand ready to confront them.”
Al-Dhalei’s threats sparked angry reactions among Hadramout people, who demanded the withdrawal of all UAE-backed armed factions from Aden, Lahj, and Dhalea provinces.
The threats came after the Hadramout Comprehensive Conference condemned the UAE’s deployment of more than 2,500 armed men last Friday, amid escalating tensions between pro-Saudi and UAE forces.
