SANAA, April 15 (YPA) – The Maldives Presidency said that the President ratified a decision banning Israelis from entering the country.
She stressed that preventing the entry of Israelis reflects their firm position in response to the genocide committed by Israel against Palestinians.
“We continue to call for accountability for violations of international law practiced by Israel and condemn its actions,” she added.
The office of Maldives President Mohamed Moizo confirmed in June 2024 that the Cabinet had decided to change the laws to prevent Israeli passport holders from entering the country and to establish a sub-committee to oversee the process.
A special envoy was then appointed to assess Palestinian needs and launch a fundraising campaign titled “Maldives in Solidarity with Palestine.”
