ADEN, April 15 (YPA) -Armed elements affiliated with the UAE-backed Southern Transitional Council (STC) abducted, on Tuesday, a security official in Yemen’s southern port city of Aden, which is under the control of the Saudi-led coalition.
According to media sources, armed members of the STC factions kidnapped “Atheer Al-San’ani,” the supply officer of Aden’s traffic department, for the second time, from Alostora Mall in the Mansoura district, where he works as head of security.
The sources explained that the armed men, traveling in a civilian vehicle, forcibly abducted Al-San’ani and took him to an unknown location. This marks the second abduction since late March, after which he was previously released.
Other sources claimed that Al-San’ani faces allegations related to multiple criminal acts, among them the 2017 killings of Hamed Awas Al-Yazidi and Abdulsalam Al-Yazidi in separate incidents in Sheikh Othman. Despite these accusations, he had remained at large until recently.
It is worth noting that Al-San’ani was previously abducted in March by an armed group affiliated with notorious STC security commander Musleh Al-Dharhani, who is accused of kidnapping, torturing, and forcibly disappearing dozens of citizens and activists. Al-San’ani was released in recent days following a strike by Aden’s traffic police.
