About 21 citizens killed, 64 wounded in fresh Israeli attacks on Gaza

GAZA, April 12 (YPA) – The death toll from Palestinian victims since the Israeli occupation resumed its aggression on the Gaza Strip on March 18 has risen to 1,563.

The Gaza-based Ministry of Health announced on Saturday that the number of wounded has exceeded 4,004, amid ongoing military escalation and a sharp deterioration in the humanitarian situation.

The ministry said in a news release that in the past 24 hours, 21 citizens were killed and 64 others wounded, amid intense Israeli airstrikes targeting residential areas across the Strip.

“An unspecified number of victims are still under the rubble or in areas that are difficult to reach due to the extensive destruction and the dangerous situation on the ground,” the statement added. “Ambulance and civil defense teams are facing extreme difficulties in reaching the bombing sites and rescuing those trapped.”

According to the Ministry of Health, about 50,933 people have been killed and more than 116,045 injured as a result of the Israeli aggression on Gaza since October 7, 2023.

These alarming numbers are increasing daily, amid continued Israeli bombardment and the absence of safe corridors for evacuating the wounded or delivering aid.
