BEIRUT, April 06 (YPA) – At least two people were killed and two others were injured on Sunday as a result of Israeli attacks targeting towns in southern Lebanon, the Lebanese Ministry of Public Health reported.
The Ministry’s Health Emergency Operations Center explained in an official statement that the Israeli airstrike on the town of Zebqin, which hit an excavator and a vehicle, raised the death toll to two, after one of the wounded died of critical injuries.
The National News Agency reported that the aforementioned airstrike resulted in the death of the excavator driver and the injury of two Syrian workers.
Lebanese media reported earlier today that an Israeli reconnaissance plane dropped a sonic bomb in the town of Naqoura. Israeli aircraft also dropped a sonic bomb between the towns of Rab Thalathin and Taybeh this morning, as part of a series of ongoing attacks that violate Lebanese sovereignty and UN Resolution 1701 and pose a threat to the security of residents in their areas.
These developments come after the visit of US Deputy Special Envoy to the Middle East, Morgan Ortagus, to Lebanon, where she held meetings with officials to discuss various issues related to the current situation in southern Lebanon and the borders with occupied Palestine and Syria.
