QUDS, April 02 (YPA) -Extremist Israeli National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir stormed the Al-Aqsa Mosque under Israeli protection on Wednesday.
The incursion took place through the Mughrabi Gate on the fourth day of Eid al-Fitr, a move that sparked widespread condemnation among Palestinians and Arabs.
During the visit, Israeli occupation forces forcibly removed the mosque’s guards from its courtyards, heightening concerns about the repercussions of this step on the situation in the region, especially amid increasing tensions in Jerusalem.
On the other hand, the Palestinian resistance group Hamas decried it as “a dangerous escalation as part of the (Israeli) genocidal war against the Palestinian people.”
“We call on our Palestinian people and our youth in the West Bank to escalate their confrontation… in defence of our land and our sanctities, foremost among them the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque,” it said in a statement.
