President Al-Mashat urges Saudi regime to take steps toward implementing peace agreement
SANAA, Mar. 25 (YPA) – President of the Supreme Political Council in Sanaa, Mahdi Al-Mashat, on Tuesday called on the Saudi regime to move forward in implementing agreements that contribute to achieving comprehensive and lasting peace.
These agreements include halting the aggression, lifting the blockade, the complete withdrawal of foreign forces from Yemeni territory, and addressing issues related to the aggression, such as prisoners, compensation, reparations, and reconstruction.
This came during a speech President Al-Mashat delivered this evening to the Yemeni people on the occasion of National Steadfastness Day, March 26, 2025.
Al-Mashat indicated that the situation of the Yemeni people in “the occupied territories” cannot be ignored or overlooked, stressing that “liberating every inch of Yemeni territory is a priority that the leadership will not deviate from.”
President Al-Mashat explained that the recent US escalation against Yemen on March 16 is an extension of the aggression that began on March 26, 2015. He emphasized that “the Yemeni people will not back down in the face of ongoing challenges but rather will become more determined to persevere until victory is achieved.”
He also affirmed that “the illegitimate US sanctions and decisions against a broad segment of the Yemeni people are not binding and must be clearly confronted and condemned.”
Regarding the Palestinian issue, President Al-Mashat reiterated Yemen’s unwavering position in supporting the oppressed Palestinian people and continuing to provide support to the Gaza Strip, regardless of the sacrifices and consequences.
At the end of his speech, President Al-Mashat called on Arab leaders to shoulder their historical responsibilities by resolving internal problems and strengthening Arab coordination, solidarity, and joint defense.
He confirmed that “the threats will not stop there but may extend to all Arab countries with the aim of subjugating the region to the Israeli project.”
