New instructions issued to halt crossings at Al-Wadiah Border crossing between Yemen, Saudi Arabia

HADARAMOUT, March 02 (YPA) – Well-informed sources in the government loyal to the Saudi-led coalition revealed that new instructions have been issued regarding movement through Al-Wadiah Border Crossing linking Yemen and Saudi Arabia.

The sources stated that the pro-coalition government has instructed the authorities overseeing the crossing to stop accepting any crossing requests from Yemeni territory into Saudi Arabia.

The sources mentioned that the new instructions to halt receiving crossing requests may result from directives by the Saudi side to pro-coalition government, due to the severe congestion at the Al-Wadiah crossing as the holy month approaches.

Saudi authorities typically expressed dissatisfaction with the overcrowding and the accumulation of travelers at the crossing.

The sources noted the pro-coalition government decided to suspend the “Crossing Application” used for receiving crossing requests at the Wadiah border crossing, which had been operational until Friday evening.
