UAE-funded Al-Amaliqa forces kidnap officer from Hays district in Hodeida

HODEIDA, Feb. 26 (YPA) – An officer loyal to the Saud-led coalition was kidnapped by extremist elements from the UAE-funded Al-Amaliqa forces, in Hodeida province.

According to the source, the officer was identified as Abdullah Kuzaih, a resident of the Hays district in southern Hodeidah governorate

Kuzaih had commented on a post by Hossam Bakri, a correspondent for “Yemen Today Channel”, who was also kidnapped hours earlier due to his criticism of the violations committed by these factions against local authorities and the residents of Hays and Tihama.

A human rights source reported that Amaliqa elements raided Kuzaih’s home on Monday and took him to one of their detention centers.

The source confirmed that the kidnapping campaign, which targeted a number of activists and pro-coalition recruits, was carried out under the directives of Ali Al-Kinani, the leader of the extremist Al-Amaliqa elements.

This followed his decision to prevent the organization of a football tournament during Ramadan in Hays under the pretext of it being a “religious innovation” (bid’ah).

This incident raises serious concerns about the ongoing actions of the UAE-funded Brigades factions, which target independent voices and those who oppose their violations in Tihama.

It also highlights the escalating kidnappings targeting residents of Hays and Tihama who criticize pro-coalition factions’ violations, aiming to silence the free voices opposing the extremist actions of these factions.
