Over 365 Palestinian children imprisoned in Israeli prisons

GAZA, Feb. 22 (YPA) – Over 365 Palestinian children are being imprisoned in the Israeli occupation’s prisons, according to the Gaza-based Government Media Office on Saturday.

Dr. Ismail Al-Thawabta, a head of the office, said in a statement some of children were arrested from the Gaza Strip by the occupation during the 15-month genocidal war.

“These children are still suffering inside the “brutal” prisons of the Israeli occupation, where they are subjected to the most heinous forms of torture,” he added.

Al-Thawabta pointed out that Palestinian children, without all the children in the world, were being tried before unjust, racist and criminal military courts, in flagrant violations of all international laws and norms.

According to the Commission of Prisoners’ Affairs and the Palestinian Prisoners’ Club, more than 770 cases of administrative detention have been recorded among children in the West Bank since the beginning of the genocidal war on the Gaza Strip. However, there is no data available on the number of children detained in the Gaza Strip since the war and in light of the ongoing “crime of enforced disappearance”.
