GAZA, Feb. 16(YPA) -At least two Palestinian police officers were killed and a third one was seriously injured in an Israeli airstrike while securing aid in Rafah, the Ministry of Interior in Gaza announced
The policemen were deployed in the area to secure the entry of aid trucks into Gaza, the ministry said in a statement this morning.
The ministry condemned this crime and called upon the mediators and the international community to compel the occupation to stop targeting the police force, which is a civil apparatus
The Israeli newspaper Yedioth Ahronoth admitted, citing an Israeli security official, that the Israeli forces were responsible for the attack.
They claimed that the strike targeted several armed individuals who were moving toward their troops in the Rafah area.
Meanwhile, Israeli occupation continues to violate the ceasefire and carry out attacks against the people of Gaza, while refusing to allow the delivery of humanitarian aid, essential supplies, caravans, and heavy machinery into the blockaded Gaza Strip.
