SHABWA, Feb. 15 (YPA) – At least two people were killed and four others injured, on Friday, in bloody tribal clashes in the Shabwa governorate, which is under the control of UAE-backed factions, in southeastern Yemen.
Local sources in the governorate reported that the district of Jardan witnessed violent confrontations between the Al-Sada and Al Balbeeth tribes, resulting in the death of two people and the injury of four others due to a dispute between the two parties over a sign for the health unit in the area.
The sources clarified that the clashes broke out due to the complete absence of state authorities and the unprecedented security chaos that the residents of Shabwa have been enduring since the beginning of 2016.
They pointed out that the leaders of the UAE-backed factions controlling Shabwa are deliberately fueling tribal conflicts to ensure their continued control over the oil fields in the governorate.
