SANAA, Feb. 13 (YPA) – This week, regions under the control of Saudi-led coalition have witnessed notable US political and military activities, raising questions amid expectations that Washington is preparing to implement new schemes targeting the Yemeni people.
The activities came through separate meetings held by the US Ambassador to the pro-coalition government, Steven Fagin, with several members of the so-called” Presidential Leadership Council,” including Aidarous al-Zubaidi, the head of the Southern Transitional Council (STC) and his deputy, “Faraj al-Bahsani,” in addition to the Salafist leader Abdul Rahman Abu Zar’ah al-Mahrami.
Fagin’s meetings focused on America’s urgent need to unify the “Leadership Council” to confront the forces of Sana’a.
The meetings in recent days have raised questions about the true objectives of America’s hostile stance toward Yemen at this time, especially with escalating tensions in the region and US President Trump’s threats to displace the population of the Gaza Strip to Jordan and Egypt.
These meetings coincided with the arrival of American forces, on Wednesday, at Al-Ghaydah Airport, which Saudi Arabia has turned into a joint American-British-Zionist base since 2017 in Al-Mahra Governorate, eastern Yemen. T
This confirms the expansion of American presence and influence in the coalition-held areas.
The American military movements in Mahra province coincide with Saudi Arabia’s military deployment of the “Dera Al-Watan” factions, which composed of extremist Salafi groups, amid popular rejection of the presence of these forces.
