14 people killed by car bomb explosion east of Aleppo in Syria

DAMASCUS, Feb. 03 (YPA) – Fourteen people were killed and others injured, most of them women, when a car bomb exploded near a vehicle carrying agricultural workers on the outskirts of the city of Manbij, east of Aleppo, northern Syria.

This is the second explosion of its kind in a few days.

The Syrian Civil Defense stated in a statement issued Monday that the incident claimed the lives of 14 women and one man, in addition to injuring 15 women with varying degrees of severity, which makes it likely that the death toll will rise. The statement confirmed that all the victims were agricultural workers.

The Civil Defense indicated that these numbers represent the initial toll of the explosion that occurred next to the car carrying agricultural workers on a main road on the outskirts of Manbij city on Monday morning.

Last Saturday, three civilians were killed and six others were injured with varying degrees of severity as a result of a car bomb explosion on Al-Rabita Street in the center of the city, according to the Civil Defense.
