First batch of Palestinian patients will travel through Rafah crossing Saturday

GAZA, Jan. 31 (YPA) – The Palestinian Ministry of Health in the Gaza Strip announced on Friday that the first group of patients and wounded will leave to travel through the Rafah land crossing starting Saturday, February 1.

The ministry explained in a press statement, “Patients and their companions will be contacted by phone to arrange travel procedures according to the approved examination.”

It stated that buses will be prepared to move towards the crossing by the World Health Organization.

The opening of the Rafah crossing comes within the framework of the ceasefire understandings between the Israeli occupation and Hamas, under Egyptian, Qatari, and American sponsorship.

It is noteworthy that the occupation closed the Rafah crossing and destroyed large parts of it after invading Rafah on May 7, and the crossing has remained closed since that time.
