Israeli occupation army gradually withdraws from Netzarim Axis, residents move toward northern Gaza Strip
GAZA, Jan. 27 (YPA) – Forces of the Israeli enemy’s army have begun withdrawing from the Netzarim axis, media outlets reported on Monday, citing the Israeli Channel 12.
Video clips showed residents starting to move on foot towards the northern part of the Gaza Strip.
This comes as the Palestinian Resistance Movement, Hamas, announced that, through the efforts of mediators, the return of displaced persons to the northern Gaza Strip will begin on the morning of Monday, January 27, 2025.
The movement stated, “As part of its efforts to remove the pretexts set by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to prevent the return of displaced persons to the northern Gaza Strip and to resolve the issue of the captive held by the resistance, Arbel Yehud, Hamas proposed to the mediators an additional prisoner exchange that would include Arbel Yehud along with two other Israeli prisoners before the upcoming Friday.”
Hamas pointed out that “the exchange process scheduled for next Saturday remains unchanged and will include three Israeli prisoners.”
For its part, the Israeli occupation army announced that it will allow residents to return on foot to the northern Gaza Strip via the Netzarim route and through Al-Rashid Street (the coastal road) starting at 7:00 a.m. It will also permit vehicle movement to the north after inspection via Salah al-Din Street starting at 9:00 a.m.
In this context, the Ministry of Interior in Gaza announced that Al-Rashid Street will be opened for pedestrian movement in both directions at 7:00 a.m. today.
It also indicated that Salah al-Din Street will be opened for vehicles in one direction, from south to north, at 9:00 a.m. today, with all vehicles subject to inspection before crossing through Salah al-Din Street.
