Lebanese soldier killed by Israeli forces

BEIRUT, Jan. 26 (YPA) – A Lebanese soldier was killed and another wounded on Sunday when the Israeli occupation forces fired shots at border areas of southern Lebanon.

The Lebanese army said in a statement, that the Israeli enemy opened heavy at the soldiers in the areas of Marouhin and Mais al-Jabal.

According to official medical sources, the death toll from the Israeli aggression on citizens who tried to return to their villages in southern Lebanon has risen to 10 dead and more than 83 injured.

Earlier in the day, Lebane’s President Joseph Aoun called on, with the expiration of the 60-day deadline stipulated in the ceasefire agreement with the Israeli enemy, the southerners to exercise self-restraint.
