“Israel” ranks second on list of most imprisoned journalists

SANAA, Jan. 19 (YPA) – The New York-based Committee to Protect Journalists said that “Israel ranked second in targeting media coverage of the occupied Palestinian territories.”

The committee added that this targeting includes preventing foreign correspondents from entering Gaza and preventing the Qatari Al Jazeera network from working in Israel and the occupied West Bank.

In addition, the number of journalists detained by the occupation and the Palestinian territories has doubled in one year.

The organization reported that the occupation is detaining 43 journalists, all of them Palestinians, in the latest statistics issued in December 2024.
