SHABWA, Jan. 18 (YPA) – The “Shabwa National Council” announced the existence of commercial deals described as suspicious in the oil sector in Shabwa province, which is under the control of UAE-backed factions in southeastern Yemen.
In a statement issued yesterday, Friday, the Council called on the “Presidential Leadership Council,” loyal to the Saudi-led coalition, to intervene to stop all commercial deals that violate the law and aim to sell some oil concession areas in Shabwa.
The Shabwa National Council emphasized the need to put an end to the policies of exclusion and marginalization that local cadres in Shabwa suffer from within the oil sector and other institutions. It stressed the prohibition of any appointment from outside the province to fill positions related to oil sector concessions.
The council also called on all the people of Shabwa to unite their efforts and stand together in the face of the exploitation that threatens the province’s resources and excludes the role of its people, confirming its commitment to supporting the community with all its capabilities in confronting this systematic targeting.
