Mw 3.1 earthquake strikes Yemen’s Ataq city

DHAMAR, Jan. 12 (YPA) – An earthquake of magnitude 3.1 on the Richter scale at 11:10 pm struck on Sunday areas of the province of Shabwa, east of Yemen.

Head of the Earthquake and Volcano Monitoring and Study Center in Dhamar province, Mohammed Hussein Mutahhar Al-Houthi, hit the city of Ataq city, the provincial capital of Shabwa.

He pointed out that the Yemeni monitoring stations recorded five earthquakes in Ethiopia earlier in the day, ranging in magnitude between 3.9-4.8 degrees on the Richter scale.
