ADEN, Jan. 09 (YPA) – Dozens of masked armed elements deployed on Thursday in the streets of the Mualla area of the coalition-held Aden city, south of Yemen.
Local sources affirmed that the new military movements in some of the main streets came amid expectations of the outbreak of widespread popular protests due to the deterioration of economic conditions.
The city is experiencing a worsening crisis reflected in popular discontent over the economic collapse, rising prices, and frequent power outages due to fuel shortages.
Continuously, the deteriorating conditions in the city and the rest of the southern provinces have been increased the state of social tension, without any reforms being carried out by the coalition-backed Aden government to alleviate the suffering of citizens.
On Wednesday, the UAE-funded Southern Transitional Council (STC) explained in a meeting held in Aden that citizens were being subjected to a fierce war in services and living conditions with the aim of bringing them to their knees, in reference to Saudi Arabia through its partners in the government.
