Palestinian flag raised at top of highest mountain in Greece

ATHENS, Jan. 09 (YPA) – Mountain climbers affiliated with the Greek Climbing Association were able to raise the Palestinian flag at the highest point of Mount Olympus, which is the highest mountain in Greece.

Kostas Isychos, former Deputy Minister of Defense in the Greek leftist government from 2015-2018, said, “This action symbolizes the strongest solidarity of the Greek people towards the Palestinians, for whose cause we are demonstrating, which has become the first and most important international issue today, which requires an urgent solution.”

Isychos expressed pride in the efforts of his comrades in achieving this accomplishment despite challenges and pledged to continue supporting leftist and progressive forces in Greece and Europe to demonstrate solidarity with Palestinian friends and oppose hypocrisy and bias in the European Union.
