Turkish soldiers, including officer, shot dead in northern Iraq

BAGHDAD, Jan. 03 (YPA) – A Turkish patrol was attacked with sniper weapons near the city of Duhok, northern Iraq, injuring three soldiers, including an officer.

“A Turkish mobile patrol was attacked near the western part of the Matin Heights in Duhok with sniper weapons,” According to the Iraqi Al-Maalouma Agency.

The sources added that a helicopter was seen flying with more than one drone, with a state of alert to evacuate the wounded to a field medical center, amid extensive combing operations with medium and light weapons.

The Turkish forces are deployed in nearly 80 military sites in northern Iraq, most of which are within the borders of the Kurdistan Region.
