Mukalla witnesses angry protests against UAE forces

HADRAMOUT, Dec. 31 (YPA) – Dozens of Yemeni fishermen organized on Tuesday a protest against the UAE forces present at Al-Rayyan Airport in the city of Mukalla, the capital of Hadramout province, in eastern Yemen.

The protest, organized by the fishermen of the city of Sheheer, came to denounce the repeated UAE attacks on fishermen and preventing them from fishing in the Arabian Sea for nearly eight years.

The UAE forces took control of Al-Rayyan Airport in April 2016, along with the American forces, under the pretext of security reasons.

This comes after fishermen carried out dozens of protests demanding that the UAE and local authorities affiliated with the Saudi-led coalition allow them to fish as the only profession to provide food for their children.
